WHY THIS WATCH
The Breitling Chronomat first made it's appearance in 1941 with the reference 769 which was a significant model in watchmaking history, as it featured the first slide rule complication on a chronograph. The Slide Rule allows users to perform computations, and conversions, making it a type of manual smartwatch.
The Chronomat got a huge refresh in 1984, when Breitling teamed up with the Italian Jet Team, Frecce Tricolori. This was the foundation of the design language seen in modern Chronomats and the point at which the Chronomat became primarily a pilots watch.
The Chronomat Evolution first appeared in Breitling's catalog in 2004, at which point it got a bigger diameter and beefier case.
